Edward T. Fairchild (Wisconsin associate justice)

Edward Thomas Fairchild (June 17, 1872 – October 29, 1965) was an American jurist and legislator from Wisconsin.
Born in Towanda, Pennsylvania, Fairchild grew up in Dansville, New York, where he was educated. Later, he bought a farm in Dansville, where he would go to for vacations.〔"The Blue Book of Wisconsin," (1907), pg.1126-1127〕
After being admitted to the New York bar, he moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he worked in the district attorney's office. In 1907, he served in the Wisconsin State Senate, and in 1916, was appointed Wisconsin Circuit Court judge. In 1930, Fairchild was appointed to the Wisconsin Supreme Court, retiring in 1957.〔"The Wisconsin Blue Book," (1931), pg. 385〕 From 1954 to 1957, he was chief justice. In 1957, he administered the oath of office when his son Thomas E. Fairchild was sworn in as a member of the Wisconsin Supreme Court in 1957.〔http://wicourts.gov/about/judges/supreme/retired/fairchild.htm〕
